A LITTLE HELP IN THE KITCHEN

DishSaver Help

Straightforward answers about your private cookbook, recipe imports, and account.

Is DishSaver free?

Yes. Creating an account and keeping your personal cookbook is free. You can try homepage recipe search without an account; an account is required to save recipes.

Are my recipes public?

No. Your saved recipes, collections, photos, and notes are private to your account. Public recipe sharing is not currently available. Search engines and AI crawlers are directed to public information pages, not your cookbook. See how your information is handled.

What is the difference between My Recipes and Collections?

My Recipes contains every saved recipe. Collections group those same recipes by categories you choose; a recipe can appear in several collections without leaving My Recipes. Use the heart to mark a favorite independently of its collections.

How do I import a CSV file?

In My Recipes, choose Import CSV and download the sample template. Use one recipe per row. Title, Ingredients, and Instructions are required; Description, Servings, Prep Time, Cook Time, Notes, and Collections are optional.

Separate ingredients with semicolons or line breaks, and put instructions on separate lines or use numbered steps. Enter prep and cook times in whole minutes. Quote cells that contain commas or line breaks. The preview highlights errors and warnings before you confirm. Missing collections are created when the import saves.

Why won’t a recipe link import?

The publisher may block automated readers, the page may need a login, or the written recipe may be incomplete. DishSaver only reads the link you supplied; it does not replace it with a different recipe. You can add the recipe manually if you have permission to use it. Search and extraction may also be temporarily unavailable when their supporting services are unavailable.

Can DishSaver import YouTube or other social videos?

It attempts to extract recipes from accessible written captions or descriptions on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest. It does not listen to or transcribe video. If the ingredients and steps are only spoken or shown in the video, importing may not work.

Where do recipe ratings come from?

Ratings are shown only when the recipe source publishes one. DishSaver does not invent ratings, and a missing rating does not mean the recipe has a low score. Search results are not a guarantee of the best recipes across the entire internet.

Does changing servings change the original recipe?

No. Serving adjustments change the displayed ingredient quantities, not the saved original amounts. Cooking times, seasoning, and equipment need your judgment rather than automatic multiplication.

Can I use my cookbook on my phone?

Yes. Open DishSaver in your phone’s web browser and sign in to the same account you use on your computer. Use Log In in the navigation if you already have an account.

How do I change my password or request account deletion?

When signed in, open Account Settings to choose and confirm a new password. To request account and associated data deletion, use Contact Us in the footer. Identity verification may be required.

Where can I get more help?

Use Contact Us in the footer to send a question. For an overview, read How It Works. For a practical system, read How to Organize Recipes.
